Awaiting spring
I am very much ready for spring to arrive. As always with every new year, January seemed to have dragged on for ages. Winter doesn’t always affect me negatively, but this year it has really hit me hard. I think it is the lack of sunshine, nearly every day has started dark and dreary and ended dark and dreary. The rain has been constant and when the sun does shine, it only seems to shine for an hour or so and then it’s back to rain again.
There have been glimpses of spring on its way. We spotted snowdrops on a walk recently and catkins on the hazel trees along with their little red flowers. The crocuses have been blooming at the park and I’ve noticed some daffodil bulbs growing in the garden, that must have been planted by the squirrels last year.
Those are the moments I really appreciate the most at this time of year. I stepped out into the garden on my tea break the other week and let the sun shine on my face for a while. I instantly felt better, working from home during the gloomy weather has been a difficulty, so any time when the sun comes out and I get a moment, I will go out an enjoy the sunshine.
I’m looking forward to seeing little lambs bouncing around the fields, trees beginning to blossom, beautiful bluebells sweeping across the woodland floors and watching birds build their nests.
I am ready for spring to bring some new beginnings.

Hi Kayleigh. It's been a long winter! I'm looking forward to all those things too. And I love that the squirrel was responsible for planting daffodils 💚
